An Erie, Pa. woman is facing local weapons charges after she was arrested by police after Transportation Security Administration officers stopped her from bringing a loaded semi-automatic handgun onto an airplane at Buffalo-Niagara International Airport on Wednesday. The woman, who was not identified, was caught with a 9 mm handgun in one of her carry-on bags. It was loaded with six bullets. more

Another step has been completed in developing final plans for the Athenex manufacturing facility in the Town of Dunkirk. A manslaughter charge has been dismissed against a Sherman man who allegedly shot and killed a woman in a hunting accident in November. An elderly Silver Creek woman was taken to a local hospital following a one-vehicle rollover accident Thursday morning in the Town of Sheridan. An Olean man is facing several charges after he allegedly fled the scene of a crash on Buffalo Road in the town of Allegany in Cattaraugus County Tuesday night. Cattaraugus County Sheriff's deputies say the driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Rolland Neilly, was later located in the city of Olean.
