Chautauqua County lawmakers will not be tackling the issue of whether to establish a county compliance officer until they deal with the 2015 budget. During their brief monthly meeting in Mayville last night, legislators decided to table a local law that would create the position. Cassadaga Republican John Runkle, who chairs the Legislature's Audit and Control Committee, led the way.

County Executive Vince Horrigan says he understood why legislators want to delay discussion over the position, but he intends to include the position in his 2015 budget.
