Construction of a new seawall in the city of Dunkirk will begin soon. S. St. George Enterprises Inc. of Fredonia will be doing the work and some equipment has been brought to the work site on Lake Front Boulevard. According to the Observer, an official with the engineering firm handling the project says it should be completed by the end of the year, weather permitting. The Common Council approved a bonding resolution in June totaling $4.2 million for the project.
