Jury Selection Underway for Town of Carroll Murder Trial

A total of four jurors have been seated so far for the murder trial of the alleged ringleader involved in the deaths of two Town of Carroll residents in April of last year. Chautauqua County Commissioner of Jurors Kathleen Krauza says two men were chosen today, in addition to two selections made Tuesday, for the trial of 34-year-old Davide Coggins. Coggins, along with three others, are accused of breaking into the home of 66-year-old Gordon Skinner and 59-year-old Joyce Skinner on Wheeler Hill Road. The four are also accused of setting the home on fire to try and cover up the crime. So far, two of the accomplices -- all from Elmira -- have accepted plea deals in return for lesser sentences. All four had been charged with two counts each of 2nd-degree murder.
