Crews will soon repair major sinkhole in Fredonia

A major sinkhole that developed in the village of Fredonia over the summer will soon get some attention from DPW crews.  Fredonia Mayor Steve Keefe says work will get underway soon on the major project near Hamlet Street in the village of Fredonia.  Keefe, who was a guest on WDOE's Viewpoint program, says an important part had to be fabricated.

Repairs will be made shortly

The sinkhole formed after an old culvert between Hamlet Street and Canadaway Creek caved in, causing significant erosion.  Keefe expects village crews will get some help from the Town of Pomfret in making the repairs.
