Council awards contract for demolition of water tower

The Dunkirk Common Council has awarded a contract to Wargo Enterprises from Akron, NY to demolish the former water storage tank on Willowbrook Avenue. City DPW Director Tony Gugino says a total of seven firms submitted bids and the work should be getting underway soon.
Gugino-Demolition work will get underway soon
The cost of the project is not to exceed $54,000. The city replaced the water tank as part of the Health Department's 2009 consent order.
