Dig out continues following second lake effect storm

As the second lake effect event to hit Western New York this week comes to an end, crews in the city of Dunkirk continue to work on snow removal.  The driving ban was lifted earlier this morning according to Police Chief David Ortolano.  He says drivers will still want to use caution today.

The village of Silver Creek also lifted the driving ban, but Mayor Nick Piccollo says they are still urging residents to avoid any unncessary travel.

The National Weather Service is continuing a Lake Effect Snow Warning until Noon today.  Snowfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are still possible in persistant lake effect snow.  The bands of snow should weaken later today with clear skies in the forecast for tonight.
