Update: Chlorine leak reported at Dunkirk Water Plant

Dunkirk firefighters and the Chautauqua County Haz Mat team were called to the scene of a chlorine leak at the Dunkirk Water Filtration plant Thursday morning.  WDOE News reached Mayor AJ Dolce who told us the problem was first reported around 7:50 am when a contractor was removing some tanks.

No injuries have been reported.  The County Haz Mat Team and City fire units left the scene after the clean up was completed around 12:30 pm.  The County Health Department was also called in, but the incident did not have any impact on the city's water system according to Dolce.
