A lengthy investigation into a fire that destroyed a Brocton church in the fall of 2013 has led to the arrest of a Dunkirk man on an arson charge. 32-year-old Daniel Frey has been charged with arson in the third degree in connection with the fire at the Tri-Parish Church at 41 East Main Street in Bocton on November 3, 2013. Chautauqua County Undersheriff Chuck Holder says it was a very complex investigation that led to Frey's arrest Friday night.

The massive fire that resulted in nearly mutual aid from more than a half dozen departments destroyed the church. The damage was so extensive that the structure had to be razed. Investigators say that Frey was residing on East Main Street in Brocton at the time of the fire.
