If you want to run for public office this fall, you better make up your mind during the month of May. That's according to Chautauqua County's two election commissioners Norm Green and Brian Abram. The county elections officials say a total of 195 offices will be on the ballot this fall. Green says it will be a busy time of the year for the Board of Elections.
Green-Looking for a busy November
Abram says prospective candidates for those offices should now be seeking endorsements from political parties to secure spots on the November ballots. He says its getting more difficult to find candidates to challenge for the various political offices.
Abram-Becoming more challenging to find candidates
Both Abram and Green are encouraging prospective candidates to the contact the County Board of Elections to learn more about the process.
