Police will be looking for impaired and distracted drivers during holiday

As millions of Americans hit the roads and highways during the holiday weekend, police across the state will be looking for drivers who drink and drive. Most police agencies in Chautauqua County will also be participating in the crackdown. Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace says his department will have extra patrols out and will be on the lookout for impaired and distracted drivers.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says the State Police will also join local law enforcement with increased patrols during the Fourth of July weekend from Friday, July 3 until Monday, July 6th.
