Police Chief Accused of Striking His Wife During Argument

A south county police chief has been charged after an investigation into a domestic dispute that occurred three months ago.  According to State Police, 49-year-old Timothy Wright of Frewsburg, who is the Town of Carroll Police Chief, was involved in an argument with his wife while driving in the Town of Leon in Cattaraugus County on April 5th.  During the argument, Wright allegedly struck his wife several times, injuring her.  Wright was issued an appearance ticket for one count of 3rd-degree assault and released on his own recognizance.  He is scheduled to appear in Leon Town Court on July 13th.
