Federal agents have made a terror-related arrest in Western New York. Arafat Nagi of Lackawanna has been charged with attempting to provide material support and resources to ISIL according to U.S. Attorney for Western New York William Hochul. He says the 44-year-old man made two separate trips from Lackawanna to Turkey and purchased items including military combat gear such as night vision goggles and black flags.
Hochul-Nagi attempted to join terrorist group
Hochul commended the Western New York community for providing information that led to Nagi's arrest. Nagi could face 15 years in jail, a $250,000 fine, or both, if convicted of attempting to provide material support.
