Two local governments have given their backing to the creation of a North County Water District. The town of Portland Board passed a resolution to support the creation of the water district. According to a story in the Observer, the town of Dunkirk has taken action supporting the water district. Three other local governments are still considering such action including the city of Dunkirk, which would supply water to the district, the village of Brocton and town of Sheridan.
