New York State Police and other police agencies will be involved in a statewide crackdown on drivers who are impaired, distracted and speeding starting today and continuing through the Thanksgiving weekend. County Sheriff Joe Gerace leads the STOP DWI campaign in Chautauqua County. He says there's usually an increase in the number of DWI arrests this time of the year and it's important for law enforcement to have a presence.

Gerace says most police agencies in the county will be participating in the crackdown which continues through Sunday. Over 4,800 tickets were issued across the state during last year's campaign.
