SUNYSA President Disappointed in Higher Education Funding Set in Cuomo's Proposed Budget

The president of the SUNY Student Assembly says the $60 million table target for higher education announced by the legislature is "beyond disappointment" for SUNY students. SA President Thomas Mastro, also a SUNY trustee, says SUNY itself received $54 million in restorations and additional funding from the Governor's budget, which still wasn't enough to cover costs. The $60 million was allocated for all colleges and universities in the state, including scholarships and other education programs. He says it's an outrage. State lawmakers continue to work on a final budget that's due by April 1st.
