The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles is reminding motorcycle owners and riders across the state to renew their motorcycle registration before they expire on April 30. Unlike most other motor vehicles, motorcycles are required to be registered for one year rather than two years in New York. There are more than 736,500 licensed motorcyclists, 350,000 registered motorcycles, and 35,600 motorcycle permit holders in the state.
