A former Buffalo Police officer, who was involved in an incident where a Silver Creek native was pushed down a flight of stairs at a Buffalo area bar and eventually died from those injuries, has pleaded guilty to a federal charge. 41-year-old Robert Eloff Jr. of Buffalo pleaded guilty to deprivation of rights under color of law before U.S. District Judge Richard Arcara today. William Sager was pushed down a flight of stairs at Molly's Pub in May of 2014 and later died from the injuries. During the incident, Eloff was off-duty from the police force and was working security. He's accused of handcuffing a friend of Sager's and arresting him without probable cause. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 1 year in prison and a $100,000 fine. Sentencing will take place in October.
