Legislature Approves Funding for Rehabilitation Project at Jamestown Airport

An $851,000 rehabilitation project at the Greater Chautauqua-Jamestown Airport can now move forward after the county legislature voted to accept federal and state money for it. However, some legislators Wednesday night opposed the measure, with at least one saying he believes the state and federal governments should be doing more for economic development in the county. Horrigan adds that the 95% share of money coming from the state and federal governments must be used for this project. In addition to Lemon, Republicans John Hemmer and Bob Scudder, as well as Democrat Charles Nazzaro, voted against accepting the airport funds.
