September 2016 Goes Down as One of the Warmest in WNY History

This September has gone down as one of the warmest Septembers on record in Western New York. That's according to Meteorologist Steve Welch with the National Weather Service in Buffalo. Welch says September 2016 will be the 6th warmest September since records have been kept in 1871.  Welch says the average temperature over the past 30 days has been 67.2 degrees...

Steve Welch: warm September

As for rainfall, Welch says the recent rains have helped, but most of Western New York is still experiencing drought conditions. The north county area remains under a moderate drought, while the Jamestown area is drought free.
