Injured snowy owl making great recovery

Here's an update about an injured snowy owl that was found be two state DEC officers in Cattaraugus County back in December.   The Buffalo News is reporting that the bird, which suffered a broken wing and was discovered near Route 241 by a farmer who flagged down the officers, has made a great recovery at Messinger Woods Wildlife Care and Education Center in Holland, NY.  The wildlife rehabilitator working with the owl reports that the bird may be released this week, so he can return to the arctic tundra.
