A one-vehicle accident early Sunday in the Town of Mina left one person seriously injured and led to a felony charge against the driver. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies responded to Route 430 at about 3:15 AM and found that the driver, 22-year-old Christopher Jones of Jamestown, lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway, struck several trees and overturned the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Hamot Medical Center. Further investigation found that Jones allegedly had a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit. He was taken into custody and charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, 1st-degree vehicular assault, and failure to keep right. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Findley Lake Fire and Sherman Fire.
