Kaleida Health Secures $17 Million in Funds for Brooks and Lake Shore Hospitals

Kaleida Health has secured an additional $17 million to complete a project to save and strengthen two hospitals in the north county. Kaleida's Senior Vice President, Michael Hughes, says the money will be used for Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk and Lake Shore Hospital in Irving. Hughes says the money comes from New York State, which had allocated $45 million for Western New York hospitals and health care organizations in the process of transforming how they operate...

In addition, Brooks Hospital, which will have a new facility, has narrowed it down to two sites for the location of that facility. With the $17 million secured, Brooks Hospital Board President Chris Lanski says board members will vote on the final location in the coming weeks. Brooks Hospital, TLC, and Kaleida announced their intentions to affiliate earlier this year.
