The decision by Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott to bench Tyrod Taylor for rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman apparently didn't provide the spark the rookie NFL coach had hoped. The Bills wound up losing to the Los Angeles Chargers 54-24. Peterman tossed five interceptions in his NFL debut, with Taylor returning under center early in the third quarter, with the Bills trailing 40-10. Peterman becomes one of only four quarterbacks in the NFL to throw five interceptions in a single half since 1991. The other quarterbacks included Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ty Detmer and Drew Bledsoe. The Bills fall to 5-5 and face Kansas City on the road next Sunday.
