Borrello unveils plans to reinvent economic development

Chautauqua County Executive George Borrello has a vision of "re-inventing" economic development in the county and it will start with appointments for two key senior posts in his administration. In carrying out that vision, Borrello today announced in Mayville the creation of two new positions, Deputy County Executive for Economic Development and the Director of Planning and Community Development. He also announced the appointment of Mark Geise as the Deputy County Executive for Economic Development as well as the CEO of the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency. Borrello also announced the appointment of Don McCord as Director of Planning and Community Development. McCord brings 20 years of planning and business experience to his new position. He has served in the County's Planning and Economic Development as both a junior and senior planner and four years ago was promoted to Deputy Director of Planning and Development. The proposed changes are subject to the approval of the Chautauqua County Legislature.
