Forestville woman rescued from vehicle in Cattaraugus Creek

A 19-year-old Forestville woman was rescued by Gowanda firefighters after she reportedly drove her vehicle over an embankment into Cattaraugus Creek yesterday afternoon. According to media reports, the woman was parking her car behind the Shop 'n Save on Buffalo Street in Gowanda when she didn't put her vehicle in park and may have pressed the gas. A water rescue team was able to save the woman from the frigid waters. She was transported to the Erie County Medical Center with hypothermia related symptoms.
