County lawmakers poised to pass animal abuse registry law

There appears to be enough support to pass a local law that would establish an animal abuse registry in Chautauqua County. That's according to Legislator Kevin O'Connell of Hanover who says some changes were made to the language of the proposal that was tabled at last month's meeting. The says there's been a lot of discussion about the registry, which would be implemented and maintained by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office...
O'Connell-Supports the proposed local law
Legislator Robert Bankoski of Dunkirk also thinks there's sufficient support for the proposal. He believes the local law can still be tweaked if the legislation is adopted.
