Chautauqua County lawmakers have cleared the way for the creation of an animal abuse registry in the county. By a 19-0 vote, legislators approved a local law that was tabled during last month's meeting. County Executive George Borrello, who is a strong supporter of the measure, says the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office will establish the registry and will be in charge of maintaining it. There's no word when the registry would be up and running.
