Borrello pleased with legislature's vote to pass animal abuse registry

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office will soon be able to begin the work of creating an animal abuse registry in the county. County lawmakers approved the local law establishing the registry during their monthly meeting last night with a 19-0 vote. They had tabled the measure in March. Borrello-Pleased local law passed
Borrello says anyone convicted of animal abuse going forward will have to be placed on the registry and anyone who sells or adopts out animals will be required to check the registry. Borrello didn't know when the registry would be up and running.
