A Stockton woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole a number of items from a local retail store last Friday. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies pulled over 20-year-old Maggie Veres for using a cell phone while driving and moving from lane unsafely. During the traffic stop, deputies were alerted to the stolen items. An investigation determined that Veres had intentionally taken the items from a store without paying for them. In addition to the traffic tickets, Veres was charged Wednesday with petit larceny and 5th-degree criminal possession of stolen property. She is due to appear in Fredonia Village Court.
