Village officials in Silver Creek have approved a measure allowing the Mayor to sign an agreement to have the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office provide enhanced police services for the village. Village Trustees approved the move according to the Observer, even though several village residents indicated their oppositions to the plan during a board meeting last night. As WDOE News reported last week that two committee's of the County Legislature will be considering the proposal this week. The full County Legislature could take up the agreement through December of 2014 later this month. Click here to read more about proposed contract.
