Is there another alternative in the debate over repowering?

Could there be alternative to repowering the coal fired power plants in Dunkirk and in Lansing New York?  Martha Robertson, who chairs the Tompkins County Legislature believes the use of bio mass could be the answer.  WDOE News reached Robertson who testfied during a Public Service Commission hearing held in Lansing last night and presented her proposal.

Robertson-Believes biomass is better alternative

Robertson is running for the Congressional seat now held by Republican Tom Reed.  Reed has come out in support of repowering both the NRG plant in Dunkirk and the Lansing plant in converting both facilities from coal to natural gas.
