Bernard E. Ball, age 78, of Arkwright, NY died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Ball was born in Buffalo on January 6, 1935 to the late Joseph G. and Crystal Rankin Ball. He attended Buffalo Schools and graduated from Lafayette High School.
Mr. Ball served in the United States Navy, being Honorably Discharged as a Petty Officer, 2nd Class. Mr. Ball received an Associate's Degree from Erie County Technical Institute, a Bachelor of Science Degree from SUNY College at Buffalo, and a Master's Degree from the University of Denver.
He retired from Al Tech Specialty Steel in Dunkirk in 1997, and held various positions over the years with the Buffalo and Erie County Public Libraries, Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp., Bell Telephone Laboratories, SUNY Fredonia, Tru Temper and American Photo.
Bernie was a man of many interests including: aviation, photography, golf, bowling, reading and history.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Juanita S. "Nita" (Stout) Ball; his daughter, Barbara E. Ball of Fredonia; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Ball is predeceased by two brothers, Joseph G. Ball, Jr. and Raymond A. Ball, Sr.; and an infant sister, Catherine.
