Joseph E. Bixby, 60, of Straight Road, Town of Sheridan, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Buffalo General Hospital.
He was born in Erie, PA on December 23, 1953, the son of the late Oscar A. and Betty Ann (Pierson) Bixby. Mr. Bixby was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1971 and worked as a carpenter for many local residential con-tractors, most recently working for Jeff Davis Construction, Fredonia. Mr. Bixby enjoyed hiking, camping, the outdoors and being with his family.
Survivors include his wife Cheryll A. (Anderson) Bixby, whom he married in 1983 in Forestville; two daughters, Sara (Scott) Jagoda and Kristen Bixby, both of Sheridan; a sister, Barbara Ann (Kenneth) Estus of South Dayton; three brothers, Thomas W. (Katharine) Bixby, of Sheridan, Stephen J. (Kyle C. Baumgartner) Bixby, of Dunkirk and David E. Bixby of Sheridan. Also surviving are one grandson, Xander Joseph Jagoda and several nieces and nephews.
