Albert J. Dudzic

Albert J. Dudzic, 99, of Dunkirk, died peacefully Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Brooks Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 6, 1915, son of the late Jacob and Veronica (Stawski) Dudzic.

A veteran of the U.S. Army attached to the Air Force. Albert served during WWII. His plane crashed and he was one of two survivors.

Retired from SUNY Fredonia in 1981, also at one time an engineer for Curtis Wright and BlawNox of Buffalo and the chief drafts-man of ALCO in Dunkirk. Albert was also employed with HSBC in Dunkirk.

Albert was an avid fan of all sports and especially en-joyed watching the city league softball games. He was a regular spectator at his grandson's baseball, football and basketball games.

He loved crossword puzzles and making model air-planes, some of which are on display at the Dunkirk Lighthouse.

Memberships include Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig, the Kosciuszko Polish Home, First Ward Falcons Club and the Moniusko Club all of Dunkirk.

Albert was a dedicated husband, father and grand-father. He is survived by son William (Molly) Dudzic of Springville, New York, Frances (late Lawrence) Dudzic of Fredonia, Albert (Gail) Dudzic of Dunkirk. Nine grandchildren Jeffrey (Denise) Dudzic, Kelly (Lenny) Stachowiak, Jason Dudzic, Allison (Larry) Spacciapolli, Meghan (Katie Diebold) Dudzic, Jacob (Randi Semo) Dudzic, Nicholas, Kyle and Emily Dudzic. Five great grandchildren Ryan, Erin and Annabelle Dudzic and Victoria and Julianna Spacciapolli and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Albert was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth A. (Tynan) Dudzic who passed away May 5, 2003, his son, Lawrence (Dudzic) and Brothers Aldolph and Albin Dudzic.

Calling hours will be Monday, April 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be Tues-day, April 15 at 10 a.m. from the Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwigs. Entombment will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Dunkirk.
