William D. Barber, 91, a resident of the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, formerly of Forestville, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Portland on March 14, 1923, the son of the late William H. and Hazel (Fitch) Barber.
Survivors include his wife Eleanor (Smith) Barber, whom he married Nov. 22, 1950, in Salamanca, a son, Gary W. (Cyn-thia) Barber of Sheridan; a daughter, Cindy L. Barber of Silver Creek; a sister, Jean Pagano, of Vero Beach, FL; and a brother, Daniel Barber of Childress, Texas. Also surviving are 1 step grandson, Willie Kaminski; and 2 step great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by 2 sisters, June Barber & Irene Esler; and by 2 brothers. Fay and Reginald Barber.
There will be no visitation observed. Graveside Services will be held in Pioneer Cemetery, Bennett State Road, Forestville, Saturday morning, April 26, at 10 o'clock, with Pastor Rob Sheldon of the First Baptist Church, SBC, Silver Creek and Pastor Michael Stitzel of the Forestville Baptist Church, officiating.
