Angela N. Vandura, 86, of Silver Creek, NY, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at her residence.
Angela was born on January 5, 1928 in Silver Creek, NY, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Cuccia) Scibilia.
She married Anthony R. Vandura on July 30, 1949 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Silver Creek.
Angela graduated from Silver Creek Central School in 1946. She worked at the 5 & 10 Store and as a teller for the M&T Bank, both in Silver Creek, NY.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church of Silver Creek and was very active with bingo.
Angela enjoyed cooking, taking care of and raising her family, and was a devoted daughter and sister.
Survivors include her son Joseph (Kathleen) Vandura of Huntersville, NC, a daughter Mary Beth Vandura of Alden, NY, five grandchildren, Michael (Jessika) Vandura, Joseph (Kaitlin) Vandura, Holly (Jonathan) Centurino, Maggie Vandura, Lindsay (David) Cory, two great-grandchildren, Blair and Darcy Centurino, and a brother, Colonel Anthony (Patricia) Scibilia of Marietta, Ga. Also survived by several nephews, aunts, and uncles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Anthony R. Vandura.
Prayers will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Silver Creek. Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
