June Deering

June Deering, 86, of Liberty Street, Fredonia, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a short illness. She was born in Uhrichsville, OH on November 18, 1927, the daughter of the late Fred and Ida (Wires) Gamble.

Mrs. Deering was a graduate of Midvale High School, Midvale, OH, Class of 1945 and worked as a manager for the former Deering's Dime & Dollar in Laona. She also at one time worked for the former Dan's Motor Lines Trucking Co. of Fredonia. She was a more than 50-year member of Fredonia American Legion Auxiliary Unit #59 and a more than 50-year member of Chautauqua Salon #649 Department of New York.

Mrs. Deering was an avid card player, specializing in pinochle and bridge.

Survivors include a sister, Gloria Everett of New Philadelphia, OH and several nieces and nephews.Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Leonard Deering, whom she married June 21, 1947 in St. John's United Church of Christ, Dunkirk; and a nephew, Rick Everett.

There will be no visitation observed. A Memorial Service will be held from Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, Forestville, at a later date. Time and date to be announced. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Sheridan Center Cemetery.
