Moti Lal Sharma, age 94, of Fredonia, N.Y., died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his home.
Dr. Sharma was born June 10, 1920 in India to the late Rama Nand and Sita Devi.
He received his Bachelor's degree in science from Lucknow University, India; his Master's degree in Zoology from Allahabad University, India; and his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio in 1963. Dr. Sharma retired as a professor of Biology from SUNY Fredonia, in 1990.
He was a member of the Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club and Torch Club. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and also served as Secretary and Grand Master.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Krishan Kanta of Fredonia; his daughter Nutan Sharma; son-in-law Antonio J. Aldykiewicz Jr. and grandson Vikram Aldykiewicz, all of Lexington MA; his nephews, Shankar Sharma, Pradeep Dixit, Praveen Dixit, Ashok Dixit, Aalok Dixit, Nawien Sharma and Anmol Maitra; his nieces, Manjula Sharma, Umang Chopra, Purva Maitra, Rohini Singh and Nandini Dhand.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Prem Chandra and Murari Lal; and his sis-ters, Prakash, Sumitra and Sushila.
