Michael "Mike" Richmond, 71, passed away Sunday (Oct. 26, 2014) at his home in Fredonia, NY.
He was born May 17, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA to Sara and Robert Richmond, the youngest of two children.
Mike graduated from Jamestown High School in 1961 and began a long career in retail at Eckerd Pharmacy in Jamestown. In 1969, Mike and his father opened Bob's Liquors, in Jamestown. The store later moved to Lakewood, NY. After many years running Bob's Liquors, Mike went to work as a car salesman for several dealerships in the Fredonia area.
A man of strong faith, he was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and its St. Vincent De Paul Society. He loved books, was an avid reader, and also a frequent visitor to the Darwin Barker Library.
Mike is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marilyn Richmond; his children, Michael and Meaghan; his grandchildren Michaela, Eric and Sara; his nieces Emelia Lindquist and Sara Richmond; his sister-in-law and his great niece and nephews. Mike is also survived by his wife's children, Mary Grace Siracuse, Tom Siracuse and David Siracuse, and their children, Jackson Blodgett, Pierce Blodgett, Gabrielle, Alexa, Matthew, Nicole, Angeline and Salvatore Siracuse.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Robert "Bob"; and his nephew Robert "Bobby".
A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fredonia on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Darwin Barker Library or St. Anthony of Padua Church's St. Vincent De Paul Society in Fredonia.
