Merle K. Penhollow, 58, of Cassadaga, died Sunday, October 26, 2014 at E.C.M.C., Buffalo.
Born April 4, 1956 in Dunkirk, a son of Kenneth Penhollow of Sinclairville and the late Alice Wise Penhollow (Jan. 24, 2010).
A Chautauqua County resident all of his life, he was a 1974 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School.
Merle was employed by LER Concrete prior to retirement due to health.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Cassadaga Memorial Post 1280.
Merle enjoyed playing softball and horse shoes and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Husband of 10 years to Terry Ziegelhofer Penhollow, whom he married Nov. 26, 2004; father of Julie Penhollow of Boca Raton, FL, Jennifer (Kirk Bradley) Penhollow of Great Valley and Kenneth (Alexis) Penhollow of Salamanca; stepfather of Jennifer (Lee) Szalkowski of Dunkirk, Annette (Gordon) McChesney of Stockton, Crystal Kinsey of Cassadaga and Richard (Ariel) Kinsey of Jamestown; grandfather of 13; brother of Burnell (Denise) Penhollow of Wilksborough, NC, Julie (John) Spitale of Sinclairville and Timothy (Charlotte) Barlow of Freedom. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Cassadaga Memorial American Legion Post 1280.
