Lois Mae W. Hall

Lois Mae W. Hall, 99, a resident of the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, formerly of Forestville, Dunkirk and Dunedin, FL, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Hall was born in Silver Creek, on April 2, 1915, the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Diefenbach) Watrous.

She was a graduate of the former Silver Creek High School, Class of 1932. Mrs. Hall worked as a Treasurer and Accountant for BOCES at Fredonia, for 16 years, retiring in 1972 and had previously worked as a secretary for Forestville Central School.

She was a 50-year member of the First United Methodist Church, Fredonia, a past member and Past Nobel Grand of the former Rebekah Lodge in Forestville, Life member and Past President of Chautauqua County Secretary Association, Life member of NYS Congress of PTA, Past President of the National Congress of PTA and the Council of Chautauqua County PTA and past member of the NYS Association of School Business Office.

Survivors include a son, Robert E. (Marilyn) Hall, of Fredonia and a daughter, Cynthia S. (Robert) Saar, of Perry, NY. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Kecia (Robert) Binko, Kris (Rodney) Dziduch, Kory (Maria) Hall, Michelle (John) Bahle, Jennifer (Phillip) Hadsell and Joel (Tonia) Saar, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Elton W. Hall, whom she married August 27, 1937 in Silver Creek and who died May 2, 2004; and by infant twins - a son and daughter in 1940.

Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., from where Funeral Services will be held Friday morning at 11 o'clock, with Rev. Stephen Wiggers, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Fredonia, officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Silver Creek.
