Emma R. Rohman

Miss Emma R. Rohman, age 87, formerly of Spring Street, Westfield, died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the home of her sister in Westfield, following an extended illness.

She was born on November 14, 1927 in Ripley, NY, the daughter of the late Louis and Bertha (Andrukat) Rohman.

A 1946 graduate of Westfield Academy, Emma continued her education at Strong Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester, where she excelled in her profession and graduated in the top of her class. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) and earned her Master in Nursing and Health Education. Emma worked as a Registered Professional Nurse all over the country, and finally settled in as a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania at Edinboro.

Her love was for her family, her profession and general health related education. She was an avid crossword puzzler and loved to read. Emma was truly a giving person who always put others' needs ahead of her own.

She is survived by her sister, Helen B. Davis of Westfield, NY and her brother, Henry L. Rohman of Westfield. Emma is further survived by her nephew, Henry Lee Rohman of Westfield, and her 3 nieces, Sandra Raynor of Maple Springs, NY, Brenda Houser of Mayville, NY, and Debra (Steve) Morrell of Westfield. Several great nieces and nephews also survive, as well as 1 great great niece and 1 great great nephew.

Keeping with Emma's wishes, there will be no visitation and all services will be private.

Private Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
