Eleanor G. "Ein" Straight, 90, of Fredonia died Tuesday morning (Feb. 24, 2015) at the Absolut Care of Westfield. She was born April 6, 1924 in Fredonia, the daughter of the late Jenness and Lola (Mau) Merrill.
A lifelong Fredonia employed at M&T Bank in Fredonia and also Fredonia Seed Company.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Barlette of Fredonia and Linda Dieteman of Dunkirk; two grandchildren, Joey (Jennifer) Barlette III of Columbus, Ohio, and David (Heather) Dieteman of Jamestown; two sons-in-law, Joe Seminatore of Fredonia and John Dieteman of Brocton; one sister, Auleen Robinson of Silver Creek; and several nieces, nephews and relatives. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Straight; one daughter, Janet Seminatore; and her son-in-law, Joseph Barlette Jr.; and four siblings, Jenness Merrill Sr., Laura Stonefoot, John Merrill and Leon Merrill.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 27 at 7:00 PM in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Schimel will officiate. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM, three hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Laona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, 7540 North Gale St., Westfield, NY 14787 or Fredonia Volunteer Fire Department.
