June E. Stahley, 90, died Thursday evening, May 21, 2015 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk. She was born June 14, 1924 in Erie, PA, the daughter of the late John and Elsie (Ekola) Argeny.
She had been employed at the former Sidey's Department Store in Dunkirk.
Mrs. Stahley was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fredonia and its Ladies Guild, a member of Chadwick Bay Garden Club, and a former member of the Zonta Club.
Survivors include her children, Ronald and Mary Anne Stahley of Forestville, along with their children Ronald, Jr., Mindy and Paul, Vincent and Allie, and Angela; Janet and Joseph Guinnane of Montgomery, IL, along with their daughters, Katherine and Susan; and Mark Stahley of Fairfax, VA, along with his daughter, Caroline. Also survived by four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ruth Argeny of Erie, PA; nieces, nephews, godchildren, and many dear friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otto E. Stahley, who died December 7, 1985; and one brother, John Argeny.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 25 at 11:00 AM in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 334 Temple Street, Fredonia. Pastor William Novack will officiate. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ladies Guild, c/o St. Paul Lutheran Church, 334 Temple Street, Fredonia, NY 14063 or a charity of one's choice.
