Marian E. (Mohart) Taylor, of the East Town of Dunkirk, formerly of Silver Creek, passed Monday morning, June 29, 2015. She was born in Silver Creek on April 2, 1934 and was a loving mother to Vicki Gage, Robert Taylor and Shari (Mike) Miller.
Mrs. Taylor was also a loving grandmother and great grandmother. Marian loved to walk, dance, travel and pick up sea glass. Growing up on Lake Erie, she was never far from the water. Over the years, she worked in grape vineyards, the canning factory, Bailey Manufacturing and even owned a taxi business in Silver Creek. Her last career consisted of watching her grandchildren and she loved every minute of it.
In addition to her children, she is survived by her brother, Carlton Mohart of Silver Creek; a sister, Dorothy Story of Collins; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Mildred (Frone) Mohart; a sister, Evelyn Chapman; and a brother, Nelson Mohart.
A quiet woman, she will be greatly missed by all that she touched in her 81 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the East Town of Dunkirk Fire Hall, 10949 South Roberts Road, Dunkirk on Friday, July 17 at 4:00 PM. Private Interment will be in Sheridan Center Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made either to the Dunkirk Historical Lighthouse, 1 Lighthouse Point Drive, Dunkirk, NY 14048, the Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E.
