Carolann Woodard, 65, of Cassadaga died Wednesday morning (July 1, 2015) at home. She was born May 31, 1950 in Dunkirk, the daughter of Bernadine T. (Burgun) Carlson of Jamestown and Robert R. Woodard of Jamestown.
A graduate of Cardinal Mindszenty High School, Class of 1968, Carolann received her bachelor's degree from SUNY Fredonia and earned a master's degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She had been employed by the Dept. of Social Services, New Frontiers, and also taught at Jamestown Community College. A lifelong area resident, Carolann was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, sewing, making costumes, and hosting family gatherings.
Besides her parents, she is survived by three daughters, Rachel Stauffer of Dunkirk, Jennifer Cieplinski of Sinclairville, and Kristen (Gary) Swan of Gerry; one son, Jonathan Cieplinski of Dunkirk; six grandchildren, Alex, Zach, Grant, Garrett, Summer and Nathan; three brothers, Jeff Woodard of Jamestown, Duane Woodard of New Jersey, and Tom Woodard of Maine; one sister, Gizelle Woodard of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Rylee Jade Cieplinski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Saturday, July 4 at 10:00 AM in Holy Trinity Church with the Rev. Raymond Donohue as celebrant. Calling hours will be held Friday, July 3 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 5:00-7:00 PM at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cassadaga Cemetery.
