Frances Gifford, 100 years old, passed away early Wednesday morning July 22, 2015 at the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk. Frances had been a former resident for many years at the WCA Home in Fredonia.
She was born in Dunkirk, New York on September 29, 1914 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Goleski Gostomski. She was an area resident her entire life.
Frances was a Fredonia High School Graduate and made her life as a homemaker. She was a longstanding member of the South Brocton Neighborhood Club. Frances also enjoyed bowling, traveling and had visited every state in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, and also had toured Canada and Mexico. Frances also greatly enjoyed making quilts. She was also a former member of St. Patrick's Church in Brocton.
She is survived by two sons, David Gifford of Fredonia, New York and Philip (Sandie) Gifford of Fredonia, New York; two daughters, Cecilia (Thomas) Bingham of Fredonia, New York and Margaret (Ronald) Manzella of South Carolina; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Frances was predeceased by two sisters Cecilia Gostomski and infant sister Josephine Gostomski and three brothers Albert, Bernard and Leonard Gostomski.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25 at 11:00 AM from the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave., Brocton, New York. The Rev Larry Morrison will officiate.
Friends are invited to greet the family from 9:00-11:00 AM at the Morse Funeral Home prior to the service on Saturday morning. The Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
