Frank Carl Battaglia, age 60, of Fredonia, NY, has gone to meet his Lord after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He went peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 with his loving fiancee, Linda Thompson, by his side. He was born in Dunkirk, NY on July 17, 1955. Frank was the son of the late Dominic and Laura Cinelli Battaglia.
He was a loving fiance, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was especially fond of working around his yard, playing the guitar, listening to music and sitting around a campfire. Frank also enjoyed visiting his friend Jay in Cassadaga, or heading to Thursday's Music on the Pier with Linda. A special thank you goes to his good friends Jody and Gary, who were always by his side. His memberships included the Columbus Club where he enjoyed hanging out and visiting with his friends.
He is survived by his three loving children: Michael Battaglia (Ashley), Frankie Battaglia and Maria Battaglia; his brother Dominic "Nicky" Battaglia, Jr. (Marlene); sisters: Cynthia Frost (Kevin) and Wendy Barlette (Robert); five grandchildren: Ian, Adriana, Lauralie, Victoria, and Ziva; his niece Alexandra Battaglia; and nephews: Robert Barlette, Jr., Steven Barlette, and Nicholas Barlette. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his infant son Charles Battaglia and his brother Richard Battaglia.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Calls may be made Monday, August 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, where a memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Arrangements by David J. Dengler.
