Michael S. Byczynski, Sr., 59, of Dunkirk, NY died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at his residence after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Dunkirk on February 7, 1957, the son of the late Raymond and Florence (Worosz) Byczynski.
A lifelong Dunkirk resident, he was employed as a welder for ECR International for 40 years. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Mike was a member of the Lakeside Club, the Moniuszko Club, the 1st Ward Falcon Club and the Polish Literary & Assembly Rooms (Dom Polski).
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Susan C. (Landon) Byczynski, whom he married May 12, 1979; his son, Michael S. Byczynski, Jr. of Dunkirk; his sisters, Reva Byczynski of Dunkirk, Rae (Thomas) Zajas of Las Vegas, NV and Rebecca Byczynsi of Dunkirk; and his brothers, Nicholas (Roz) Byczynski of York, PA and Phillip Byczynski of Dunkirk. Nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Renee Byczynski and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date and time to be announced. There will be no prior visitation. Arrangements by the Newman Funeral Home, Inc.
